Crafting our 14,000 sf headquarters was the perfect opportunity to showcase our commercial construction expertise and passion for sustainable building. The resulting structure was named one of the Top Ten Green Projects of 2010.
An extensive remodel of the historic Jackson Brewing Company bottling facility, this project featured innovative energy saving methods and materials throughout. The design included natural ventilation through a perforated zinc façade to reduce energy loads, while sourcing nearly all of its electricity from a rooftop 30kW photovoltaic array.
The project was awarded LEED-NC Gold certification from the USGBC in 2009, and was the recipient of the 2010 ZeroFootprint Re-Skinning Award. It was also the inaugural winner of the 2013 Top Ten Plus Award by the American Institute of Architects’ Committee on the Environment. Capping these accolades, the project was presented at the World Urban Forum 5 in Rio de Janeiro as a prototype for the sustainable reuse of urban industrial structures worldwide.
