Beach House

A full gut remodel of a 3,262 square-foot, single-family home in Stinson Beach, California made this the perfect place for a long vacation or a short escape from the city. A fresh new design scheme created a beautiful residence in a mid-century modern style and a separate guest wing was created by reconfiguring rooms and halls. Signature features include new stone and tile throughout, French-made LaCornue range, a NanaWall operable glass wall in the dining room, custom bunk beds, and a new PV system. Adding decking, pavers, built-in redwood hot tub, bocce court, and planting throughout the property grounds complemented the home’s new look and enhanced its “vacation” feel with jaw-dropping ccean and Mt. Tam views.

We worked closely with the client at every stage of the project to identify priorities and opportunities for value-engineering that would still achieve the design intent. Site conditions and the existing structure presented challenges, but we were able to draw on our decades of experience to offer viable solutions. Despite being located in a gated community with limited working hours, we were able to bring this project in on time and under budget with great synergy established with our architect, interior design team and client.
